The VHC244 is an advanced high-speed CMOS octal bus buffer fabricated on a silicon-gate CMOS process. It achieves high-speed operation similar to an equivalent bipolar Schottky TTL while maintaining CMOS low power consumption. The VHC244 is a non-inverting 3-state buffer with two active low output enables. The device can be used as a 3-state memory address driver, clock driver, and bus-oriented transmitter/receiver. An input protection circuit ensures that 0V to 7V is applied to the input pins regardless of the supply voltage. This device can be used to interface 5V systems with 3V systems and both power systems, such as battery backup. This circuit prevents damage to the device due to mismatched supply and input voltages.
