The MC14029B binary/decimal up/down counter is constructed using MOS P-channel and N-channel enhancement mode devices in a monolithic structure. The counter consists of D-type flip-flop stages with a gated structure to provide toggle flip-flop capability. The counter can be used for binary or BCD operations. This complementary MOS counter is primarily intended for up/down and difference counting and frequency synthesizer applications requiring low power consumption and/or high noise immunity. It is also suitable for A/D and D/A conversion and magnitude and sign generation.
