Logic device/transceiver/encoder
The VHC373 is an advanced high-speed CMOS octal D-type latch with 3-state output fabricated in a silicon-gate CMOS process. It achieves high operating speeds similar to equivalent bipolar Schottky TTLs while maintaining CMOS low power consumption. This 8-bit D-type latch is controlled by the Latch Enable (LE) and Output Enable inputs (OE#). When the latch enable (LE) is high, the latch is transparent to the data. When LE is low, the data meeting the setup time is latched. When the OE# input is high, the eight outputs are in a high-impedance state. An input protection circuit ensures that 0V to 7V is applied to the input pins regardless of the supply voltage. The device can be used as an interface between 5V and 3V systems as well as two power systems such as battery backup. This circuit prevents damage to the device due to mismatched supply and input voltages.
