The MC78L00A series of linear voltage regulators are inexpensive, easy-to-use, and suitable for a variety of applications requiring a regulated power supply up to 100 mA. Like the high power MC7800 and MC78M00 series, these regulators have internal current limit and high temperature shutdown, making them very rugged. In many applications, the MC78L00 device requires no external components. These linear regulators offer significant performance advantages over conventional zener diode-transistor combinations, while simultaneously reducing output impedance and quiescent current.
