The FAN3213 and FAN3214 dual 4-A gate drivers deliver high peak current pulses with short switching intervals for driving N-channel enhancement mode MOSFETs in low-side switching applications. They both provide TTL input thresholds. Internal circuitry holds the output low until the supply voltage is within operating range, providing undervoltage lockout. In addition, these drivers feature matched internal propagation delays between the A and B channels, making them suitable for applications requiring tightly clocked dual gate drivers, such as synchronous rectifiers. This also enables the parallel connection of the two drivers, effectively doubling the current capability to drive one MOSFET. The FAN3213/14 drivers integrate the MillerDrive architecture for the final output stage. This bipolar MOSFET combination provides high current during the Miller plateau phase of the MOSFET turn-on/turn-off process to minimize switching losses while providing rail-to-rail voltage swing and reverse current capability. The FAN3213 provides two back drivers and the FAN3214 provides two non-back drivers. Both feature standard 8-pin SOIC encapsulation.
