The FAN73896 is a monolithic three-phase half-bridge gate driver integrated circuit for high-voltage, high-speed driving MOSFETs and IGBTs operating up to +600 V. ON Semiconductor's high-voltage process and common-mode interference suppression technology provide stable operation of the high-side driver under high dv/dt interference conditions. Advanced level shifting circuitry allows high-side gate driver operation up to VS = -9.8 V (typ) for VBS = 15 V. Protection features include undervoltage lockout and inverter overcurrent trip with automatic fault clearing. Overcurrent protection that terminates all six outputs can be generated from an external current sense resistor. An open-drain fault signal is provided to indicate overcurrent or undervoltage shutdown. A UVLO circuit prevents faulty operation when V and VBS are below threshold voltages. The output driver will typically source/sink 350mA/650mA respectively; suitable for three-phase half-bridge applications in motor drive systems.
