The high-performance silicon-gate CMOS MC74HC540A has the same pin-out as the LS540. The device inputs are compatible with standard CMOS outputs. An external pull-up resistor makes it LSTTL output compatible. The HC540A is an octal inverting buffer/line driver/line receiver for 3-state memory address drivers, clock drivers, and other bus-oriented systems. The device's input and output are on opposite sides of the encapsulation and has two AND active-low outputs enabled. The HC540A is similar in function to the HC541A with a non-inverting output.
