The NCP1096 is part of ON Semiconductor's IEEE.3bt, IEEE 802.3af, and/or IEEE 802.3at compliant Power over Ethernet Device (PoE-PD) family of solutions, enabling the development of high-power applications such as connected lighting and USB Type C. The NCP1096 combines all necessary functions in a PoE system such as detection, classification and current limiting during the inrush phase. The NCP1096 can deliver up to 90 W of output voltage using internal hot-swap FETs. To improve energy efficiency, NCP1096 also provides auto-classification support for optimizing power allocation based on PD type and class.
