The CAT3200 and CAT3200-5 are switched capacitor charge pump boost converters that provide a low noise, regulated output voltage. The CAT3200-5 provides a fixed regulated 5.0 V output. The CAT3200 has an adjustable output using an external resistor. A constant frequency 2.0 MHz charge pump allows the use of small 1.0 µF ceramic capacitors. The device supports up to 100 mA maximum output load over a wide input supply voltage range (2.7 V to 4.5 V), suitable for battery-powered applications. A shutdown control input allows the device to be placed in power save mode, reducing supply current to less than 1.0 µA. In the event of a short circuit or overload, the device is fully protected by foldback current limiting and thermal overload detection. Additionally, a soft-start, slew-rate control circuit limits inrush current during power-up.
