FAN5069 combines a high-efficiency pulse-width modulation PWM controller and an LDO (low-drain) linear regulator controller. Synchronous rectification provides high efficiency over a wide load current range. Efficiency is further improved by using the RDS(ON) sensing current of the low-side MOSFET. Linear and PWM regulator soft-start is controlled by an external capacitor to limit inrush current from the power supply when the regulator is first enabled. It is also possible to program the current limit for the PWM. The PWM regulator uses summing current mode control with external compensation for fast load transient response, providing system design optimization. The FAN5069 is available in industrial temperature range (-40°C to +85°C) and commercial temperature range (-10°C to +85°C).
