The FAN9673 is an interleaved three-channel continuous conduction mode (CCM) power factor correction (PFC) controller IC for a PFC pre-regulator. The FAN9673 combines leading edge, average current, and "boost" type power factor correction implementation circuits, allowing the design of power supplies to fully comply with IEC1000-3-2 regulations. Interleaved operation greatly reduces input and output ripple current, and conduction EMI filtering is simpler and cost-effective. The innovative channel management function enables the power level of the slave channel to be smoothly loaded and unloaded according to the set voltage on the CM pin, improving the load transition response performance of the PFC converter. FAN9673 also incorporates multiple protection functions including peak current limit, input undervoltage protection and TriFault Detect function.
