The NCT75 is a two-wire serial link programmable temperature sensor with a high temperature/interrupt output pin to signal an out-of-limit condition. This is an open-drain pin and can operate in comparator or interrupt mode. The temperature measurement is converted to digital form using a high-resolution (12-bit), sigma-delta, analog-to-digital converter (ADC). The device operates over the -55°C to +125°C temperature range. Communication with the NCT75 is via the SMBus/I2C interface, which is compatible with industry standard protocols. Three address select pins A2, A1 and A0 can be used to connect up to 8 NCT75s to one bus. Through this interface, these NCT75 internal registers can be accessed. These registers allow the user to read the current temperature, change configuration settings, and adjust temperature limits. The NCT75 has a wide supply voltage range of 3.0 V to 5.5 V. The average supply current at 3.3 V is 575 µA. It also provides a power-saving shutdown mode. Typical shutdown current is 3 µA. The NCT75 is available in three space-saving packages - DFN-8, MSOP-8 and SOIC-8, and is fully pin and register compatible with the LM75 and TCN75.
