The NCV70628 is a single-chip microstepping motor driver with a position controller and control/diagnostic interface. It can be used to build specialized mechatronic solutions remotely linked to LIN master nodes. The chip receives positioning instructions via the bus, and then drives the motor coils to the desired position. The on-chip position controller is configurable (OTP or RAM) for different motor types, positioning ranges, and speed, acceleration, and deceleration parameters. NCV70628 acts as a slave node on the LIN bus, and the master node can obtain specific status information such as actual position, error flag, etc. from each slave node. Integrated sensorless stall detection stops the motor when it enters a stalled state from running. This enables noiseless but accurate position calibration during reference runs and semi-closed-loop operation when approaching mechanical end stops. The chip adopts I3T50 technology, which can simultaneously realize high-voltage analog circuit and digital function on the same chip. The NCV70628 is fully compliant with automotive voltage requirements. Thanks to this technology, the device is ideal for applications using fluctuating battery power.
